At Foxjets Swim Team, we're thrilled to honor athletes who go above and beyond, showcasing our team values both in and out of the pool. Our core principles of Integrity, Family, Attitude, and Ambition are the heart of our community, and this month, we’re excited to spotlight two swimmers who truly embody these qualities. Join us as we celebrate their achievements and hear their inspiring stories!
TJ Sayer, Silver 1
I nominated TJ for Athlete of the Month because, at just 8 years old, he swims with the focus and drive of a 12-year-old, consistently showing dedication, commitment, and giving his absolute best in every practice and race!

Proud of my hard work.
Who on the team has been an inspiration to you, and why?
Levi Benson because he’s fast and encourages everyone and Cooper Stout because he calls me Thomas Jefferson, is fast, and funny.
Do you have any fun pre-race rituals or routines?
I like to visualize my race when I’m at the block and eat ice cream when I’m done.
How do you balance swimming with school and other activities?
I get my homework done on the bus so I don’t have to worry about it.
What advice would you give to a new swimmer joining the team?
Just have fun and don’t be scared.
Sebastian Wood, National Senior Prep
Not only did Sebastian swim 100% best times at Milwaukee, which was his midseason championship meet, he also had 100% attendance for the entire Fall (before he left for high school season). That's a lot of 100%!
Coach Lloyd
What’s your favorite thing about being on the swim team?
My favorite thing about being on Foxjets is that I get to swim with friends everyday.
What stroke do you enjoy the most, and why?
My favorite stroke is breaststroke, because the kick is fun.
How has being part of the swim team helped you grow as an athlete?
Being on the team showed me that goals don't come if you don't put in the work. I also appreciate the support from everyone with everything at practices and meets.
What’s one of your favorite memories from a swim meet or practice?
A core memory is the lazy river race in Iowa.
How do you feel after achieving a personal best time?
Getting a personal best time makes me happy and it makes me want to keep getting faster.
Who on the team has been an inspiration to you, and why?
Evan Ebert and Owen Lund give me inspiration because they both work very hard. My sister, brother, and dad too, they understand what I do.
What’s something you’ve learned from your coaches that’s helped you improve?
Coach Lloyd recently helped me with butterfly technique so I can reach further on my stroke. But I have had lots of help from coaches, thank you.
Do you have any fun pre-race rituals or routines?
A pre-race routine is warming up in the warm-up pool and drinking water for hydration.
How do you balance swimming with school and other activities?
I make sure to do homework after practice and maximize my time in school, this helps to balance all the responsibilities.
What advice would you give to a new swimmer joining the team?
A suggestion to anyone new on the team is to be patient and trust hard training will all pay off in the end.
