Foxjets Frequently Asked Questions

Competitive Swim Team FAQs

Focusing on technical details, commitment, and athlete development.

  • How are group placements determined?

Placements are based on a combination of age, technical skill, and sometimes specific time standards. All new swimmers participate in a placement evaluation to ensure they are in the group that best serves their holistic development.

  • What is the commitment level for competitive swimming?

Commitment varies by group. Our developmental groups (Red/White) typically practice 1–3 times per week, while our National-level athletes train 5+ days per week. We believe in building a "Tradition of Excellence" through consistent effort.

  • Where are practices held?

We utilize premier facilities in Eden Prairie, including the Eden Prairie Community Center (EPCC), Oak Point Elementary, and the International School of Minnesota (ISM). During the Summer season, we utilize the Richfield outdoor facility.

  • Does Foxjets offer dryland or strength training?

Yes! Our Junior and Senior performance pathways include specialized strength and conditioning to give swimmers the tools to thrive both in and out of the pool.

  • Who do I contact with questions about your competitive program?

You can reach out to our Head Program Director, Lloyd Larsen, at lloyd@swimfoxjets.com.

  • Is financial assistance available to your members?

Yes. Foxjets Swim Team offers financial assistance in the form of athletic scholarships that can be applied toward member dues.

We are committed to making our program accessible to dedicated swimmers and families who may need support.

To learn more about eligibility, the application process, and available scholarship opportunities, please contact our Head Program Director, Lloyd (lloyd@swimfoxjets.com). He will be happy to provide additional details and guide you through the next steps.

Masters Swimming FAQs

For adult athletes, triathletes, and fitness swimmers.

  • I haven't swam competitively in years. Can I still join?

Absolutely. Our Masters program is a connected community for adults of all levels. Whether you are a former athlete or a triathlete looking to improve your swim split, we have a lane for you.

  • Do I have to compete in meets?

Competition is entirely optional for Masters swimmers. Many join simply for the expert coaching and the social atmosphere of a team workout.

  • Is there a coach on deck?

Yes. Unlike "lap swim" at a local gym, Foxjets Masters practices are led by professional USMS-ceritified coaches who provide structured workouts and technical feedback.

  • Who do I contact with questions about your Masters program?

You can reach out to our Head Masters Coach, Dave Cameron, at dave@swimfoxjets.com.
